“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”
Defining that ‘Moment’…
The main reasons behind wanting to create this site is to share my travel experiences & insights. One of the most important things I’ve learned is that we each experience the world differently depending on where we are on our life journey. And I hope that this site will help you to plan your next adventure, and inspire you to find your meaningful moments.
The mystery of the road less traveled, the quiet of the countryside, the people we meet, the local customs we learn about – all of these things affect you and will change your perspective on life. Every time we visit a new & exciting place, it’s sensory overload – the sights, sounds & smells; and the amazing new flavours & spices that make our taste buds dance.
But apart from appealing to our 5 senses, there’s another element that comes with experiencing that ‘moment’ – a private feeling that you cannot explain, but comes to you when you are open to it. For me, it’s a feeling of peaceful contentment & complete humility. It is this feeling that enriches our souls and inspires us to live a passionate life.
Throughout my travels, I have been fortunate enough to have experienced life-changing & awe-inspiring ‘moments’. These ‘moments’ will change you, humble you, and keep you coming back for more.
MY TRAVEL MISSION
I am committed to sustainable travel – taking away only great memories & photos, and leaving behind only my footprints. I believe in understanding and respecting the local culture and supporting the local economy.
I also have a personal mandate to travel on a budget, which thankfully works in harmony with my commitment to sustainable and responsible travel. I have written an article with tips on how to travel cheaply & authentically.
And now that we have a new addition to our family, I will strive to show him all the beauty our world has to offer. I believe that authentic travel will build strength of character and an appreciation for what we have. We have to remember that the ability to travel is a privilege that not many in this world have. And so, my little Monkey, my mission is to take you to see the world – even if it means we cannot buy you very many toys.
